Fire reported behind Centennial Park

Update 7:40 p.m.: Sheriff Kenny Furlong reports that the fire has been extinguished, and was contained to the vehicle. About 20 gallons of fuel was spilled on the ground as a result, and that environmental officials have been contacted. No one was injured.

At least one person was injured in a rollover accident at the roundabout on Fifth and Fairview this morning. The accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Carson City Fire Department and ambulance have responded. Carson City sheriff's deputies were called to the scene to investigate and for traffic control.

Rider injured in motorcycle crash on Stanford Drive, Care Flight responds

A motorcycle rider was seriously injured Sunday after a single vehicle crash that happened just before 3:40 p.m. in the area of Stanford Drive.
Carson City Fire Department and ambulance responded to the crash, reporting one person down in the middle of the road. No other vehicles appear to be involved, according to dispatch. Witnesses on scene said the rider was bleeding from the ear.

Carson City rescue crews respond to multi-vehicle crash at Fairview and Saliman

Carson City fire and ambulance have been called to an injury accident at the intersection of Fairview and Saliman Road. The accident involves at least three vehicles, according to dispatch and was reported just after 2 p.m. One person was reportedly injured and is being taken to the hospital. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Emergency crews respond to vehicle crash in front of Carson City Senior Center

A vehicle crash in front of the Carson City Senior Center on Beverly Drive sent at least one person to the hospital with minor injuries. The accident happened at around 1 p.m. Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded. The cause of the crash is unknown. At least one vehicle had significant damage and rolled over, landing on its tires. Another vehicle had some front end damage. Deputies are investigating.

Juvenile on skateboard suffers minor injuries in vehicle accident in front of fire station

A male juvenile on a skateboard-scooter was struck by a vehicle in front of the Carson City Fire Station on Stewart Street this afternoon. He sustained minor injuries, cuts and bruises, and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The incident was reported at around 12:40 p.m.
Carson City Sheriff's Office and the Nevada Highway Patrol were both called to the scene.

Emergency crews respond to pedestrian vs vehicle crash at Airport Road and Highway 50

Carson City fire and ambulance were called to a pedestrian accident, possibly on a bicyclist who was hit by a vehicle in the area of Airport Road and Highway 50 East.

The call came into dispatch just after 4:10 p.m. Firefighters on scene had requested a Care Flight ambulance however it was canceled after it was learned it would take at least 20 minutes for it to land.

NHP: 13-year-old girl in serious condition in crosswalk crash on South Carson Street

A 13-year-old Carson Middle School girl remains in serious condition after an accident Tuesday afternoon at a South Carson Street crosswalk, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Carson City sheriff’s log: deputies make several felony, misdemeanor arrests

A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 1:05 a.m. in the 4000 block of South Curry on a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant, issued Feb. 11, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court and possession of marijuana. Bail: $1,237.

— A 38-year-old Carson City man was Wednesday, 2:10 p.m. in the 3000 block of Retail Drive on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued April 16, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

Carson City fire and rescue called to structure fire on West King Street

8:33PM: The fire, in a house near Bordewich-Bray Elementary, has been knocked down, according to first responders.

Carson City fire and rescue were called tonight a structure fire in the 700 block of King Street on the west side of Carson City.
The fire was called in at around 8:20 p.m. Multiple fire units were called to 717 King Street. Additional fire units have been requested.
It is unknown at this time what is burning or how widespread the fire is. Check back for updates.

One injured in four-vehicle accident on south Carson Street in front of Bodines

Carson City fire and ambulance and sheriff's deputies were called just before 5:30 p.m. tonight to a multi-vehicle traffic accident in the southbound lane of Carson Street in front of Bodines Casino.

    Carson City fire and rescue called to motorcycle crash at Fifth and Saliman

    UPDATE: Carson City fire and rescue were called to the scene of a motorcycle crash Tuesday night. The victim is a 25-year-old female rider who sustained a deep laceration to the foot area, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Deputy Bob Guimont.
    The call came into dispatch just after 6 p.m. The single vehicle accident, involving just the motorcycle, happened near the intersection of Fifth Street and Saliman Road. The woman was taken to the hospital with the injury. Traffic was re-routed around the accident scene.

    Fire awareness events this weekend in Carson City

    With a fourth year of drought and spring temperatures climbing, Carson City residents are urged to be fire safe. May is Nevada Wildfire Awareness Month and as conditions continue to dry, and the number of windy days begin to increase, the potential threat of wildfire grows.

    Protecting your home starts with you. The wildfire season is here. This Saturday and Sunday, the Carson City Fire Department will hold two events designed for homeowners to prepare for the season.

    There will be a Community Open House, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Minor injuries reported after vehicle flips into Carson River in southeast Carson City

    Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called tonight to the area of Hobby Horse and Golden Eagle in southeast Carson City after a vehicle flipped and plunged 45 yards down a steep embankment into the Carson River. All occupants are out and are said to have minor injuries, mainly cuts and bruises.

    UPDATE: The southbound lane of Carson Street was re-opened for traffic at 1:12 a.m.

    Care Flight was called and Carson City fire and rescue and and sheriff's deputes have responded early Saturday morning to a vehicle accident at Carson Street and Koontz Lane.
    The call came into dispatch at around 12:15 a.m. and involved a single vehicle that ran head-on into a telephone pole. Care Flight was instructed to land on scene at South Carson Street. At least one person has suffered serious injuries.

    Carson City fire and rescue respond to injury accident at Highway 50 East and Airport Road

    UPDATE: Carson City fire and rescue and Care Flight responded to a traffic accident with injuries this afternoon at the intersection of Highway 50 East and Airport Road.
    The accident was a rear-end type collision involving a blue Toyota and a white truck. The accident was reported at 2:39 p.m. At least two people were injured, one being an adult male, 44.

    Boy saved from house fire

    Carson City firefighters were called this morning to a fire at a residence near the corner of Selby and La Loma on the east side of Carson City.

    Initial reports said there were people and pets inside the home. According to Carson City Fire Chief Bob Schreihans, they located a boy who was asleep in the home, and called out to him to wake him up and saved him from the fire. All the pets were accounted for as well. The fire was reported to dispatch at 9:49 a.m.

    Fire reported at Starbucks on North Carson Street

    UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department responded this morning to Startbucks at 1850 North Carson Street to a small electrical fire inside. Firefighters were called shortly before 8:30 a.m. When they made entry they discovered light smoke and a water leak, said Carson City Battalion Chief John Arneson. The building was evacuated and the fire was quickly extinguished.
    The coffee shop is closed at this time.
    The building department and health department have been notified and will respond.

    Two accidents within minutes of each other on Carson City I-580 Freeway

    Carson City fire and rescue and sheriff's deputies were called to two traffic accidents that happened within minutes of each other on the Carson City I-580 freeway. The first accident, reported at 1:10 p.m. is in the southbound lane near the College Parkway ramp.

    Carson City emergency crews called to vehicle crash at Highway 50 and College Parkway

    Carson City fire and ambulance were called to a two-vehicle crash Monday night in the area of Highway 50 and College Parkway.
    At least two people were injured and are said to be suffering from chest, leg and arm pain, according to Carson City deputies responding. They were being treated at the scene and will be taken to the hospital by ambulance. The crash was reported at 9:48 p.m.
    The northbound lane of traffic on College Parkway is being re-directed around the accident scene.

    Carson City fire and rescue respond to accidents in front of Legislative building, Highway 50

    A minor fender-bender accident happened early this evening in front of the Nevada Legislative Building at Fourth and Carson Street, briefly delaying traffic. An ambulance was called after a person in one of the vehicles asked to be checked out. The accident happened after 5:30 p.m.
    Meanwhile, a second accident happened just after 6 p.m. involving a single-vehicle into a pole at Highway 50 and Airport Road. Carson City Sheriff's Office and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called to investigate. No injuries were reported.

    Carson City fire and rescue called to accident in westbound lane Highway 50 Spooner

    UPDATE: One person was taken to the hospital following the accident Friday just before 5 p.m. on Highway 50 at Spooner. Their condition is unknown at this time.

    Westbound traffic on Highway 50 on Spooner will be delayed as Carson City fire and ambulance respond to a vehicle rollover. The injury accident was reported at 4:50 p.m., with initial reports of a VW that had flipped with a victim possibly trapped in the vehicle.

    Tractor trailer flipped over at 5th and Fairview

    UPDATE: Fifth Street at the roundabout was opened at 3:11 p.m.

    UPDATE: Carson City fire and rescue canceled Care Flight and is taking the driver of the truck that flipped by ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
    The driver apparently went through the Fifth Street travel lane at the roundabout, possibly going too fast, flipping the truck to its side and dumping a load of dirt, garbage and other debris along the roadway.

    Fire unfounded at Save Mart on Highway 50 East

    Carson City fire crews could not locate a fire after being dispatched just after 2:50 p.m. Thursday afternoon to Save Mart on Highway 50 East. A store employee who answered the phone said they were checking it out and had evacuated the store. Crews on scene told Carson City Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Steve Albertsen that there had been an odor of paper burning near the deli area, but they couldn't located the fire. The store was closed temporarily as firefighters searched for the origin. It has now been reopened.

    Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's office responded to a crash involving a vehicle and motorcycle in the area of Long and Russell. The accident was reported around 12:30 p.m. Arriving deputies said the rider, a male, was conscious with neck, back and hip pain, according to dispatch.
    Traffic is was being diverted around the south side of Long and Russell.
