UPDATE 958AM: An adult male in his 50s was flown by Care Flight after he crashed his moped near Fairview and College Parkway. No other vehicles were involved and the incident is being investigated for DUI, according to a Carson City sheriff's office sergeant.

Care Flight has been called following an injury accident near Fairview and College Parkway with a crash involving a moped.

A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Saturday on felony suspicion of DUI causing injury and other charges after colliding with a motorcycle rider in the area of College Parkway and Highway 50 East, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

UPDATE: All lanes are now open as of 6:50 p.m. in the area of Roop and Long streets, where a rollover crash happened earlier tonight. One person was flown to the trauma ward of Renown Medical Center in Reno. Three others were treated and released from the scene. The crash happened just before 5:45 p.m.

Care Flight has been ordered and Carson City Fire Department and ambulance were called tonight to a injury accident in the area of Long and Roop Streets. Four people are reportedly injured in this crash.

UPDATE 415PM: Evacuations have been lifted in the industrial park area near the chemical fire earlier today off of Lockheed Way. Those who left their vehicles in the area, can now safely go back to pick them up. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

UPDATE: An 80-year-old man crossing a crosswalk adjacent to the Nevada Legislative Building at Fifth and Plaza Street in Carson City was struck by a vehicle tonight and flown by Care Flight to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center.

UPDATE 1:07PM: An 83-year-old man was rescued late Tuesday morning after being out overnight in the snow in Brunswick Canyon. He was found by a search and rescue team, flown out of by a Washoe County RAVEN helicopter, and then taken by Care Flight. He is in serious condition with hypothermia, said Bill Fergus, Vice Commander of Carson City Search and Rescue.

With Halloween festivities celebrated Friday in Carson City and Nevada Day arriving Saturday, Carson City experienced very few problems associated with festivities, sheriff Ken Furlong said.

“This weekend was an enormous success in that we had very few incidents to speak of requiring intervention during the parade, during Halloween activities and during the carnival,” said Furlong. “With the number of very well organized activities, families, participants and viewers had a lot of fun without crossing the line. I’m really pleased with that.”

UPDATE: Both northbound and southbound lanes of North Carson Street were re-opened for traffic at 11 a.m. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

A large trailer hauling cars and trucks clipped a power pole on North Carson Street Friday morning, temporarily closing the north and southbound lanes. The incident happened at around 9:40 a.m. in the 2500 block. No injuries were reported. Traffic is being rerouted.
Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies, the Carson City Fire Department and NV Energy have responded.

UPDATE: Care Flight flew two patients to the trauma ward of Renown Medical Center in Reno after a three-vehicle crash late Tuesday night near the intersection of Highway 50 East and Fairview in Carson City. One other patient was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital.

The Carson City Fire Department will allow open burning beginning Saturday Oct. 31 to Nov. 29, 2015.

The purpose of the open burn period is to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of accumulated weeds and yard debris. In order to make this a safe endeavor for those involved, the Carson City Fire Department will require a burn permit with a valid permit number before burning will be allowed. Permits must be obtained no less than 24 hrs prior to conducting an open burn.

UPDATE: From NHP Trooper Duncan Dauber: We got the call at 7:23pm. Crash blocking the intersection of Highway 50 and Airport Road. it involved two vehicles, a blue Ford Ranger and a red GMC pickup. The two drivers were fighting when the call came into us. The driver of the red GMC was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence and freely and voluntarily submitted to a blood draw. The intersection was blocked while the crash was being investigated and vehicles were moved out of the way.

UPDATE: The suspect in a shooting of a 71-year-old victim in a domestic dispute Friday night has been identified as Andrew Seth Harris, 47, of Carson City. The suspect was initially identified by officers on scene as female. It was determined during the investigation the suspect is legally a man.

A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony third offense domestic battery after allegedly punching his brother repeatedly, sending him to the hospital emergency room, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Carson City Emergency Management and the Carson City Fire Department will host a planning and community hazard mitigation open house and workshop Thursday, marking the 100th anniversary of the historic 1915 Nevada Pleasant Valley earthquake that happened 50 miles south of Winnemucca and considered the strongest earthquake ever recorded in Nevada.

A 62-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail early Monday on suspicion of gross misdemeanor abuse of a vulnerable person and misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

A school bus and pickup collided Friday afternoon on Highway 50 East near Airport Road in Carson City, sending the driver of the pickup to the hospital. The driver of the bus and two children aboard were not injured, said Carson City Fire Chief Bob Schreihans.

Carson High homecoming activities will continue Thursday night with a bonfire behind the football and soccer fields. The bonfire will be supervised by Carson High staff, Carson City sheriff’s Deputy Jessica Dickey and the Carson City Fire Department. Smoke will be visible in the area. The event begins around 6:30 p.m.
The fire department will notify dispatch when the bonfire begins and ends.

UPDATE 5:53PM: A fire caused major damage to a West Long Street home on Monday afternoon burning into the attic, interior and exterior of the home, said Carson City Fire Chief Robert Schreihans. No one was injured.

The blaze produced flames outside the home that were fueled by winds that ignited nearby trees and shrubs, forcing the evacuation of two nearby homes. The neighboring homes were not damaged.

Firefighters were able to get a handle on the blaze within 15 minutes, said Schreihans.

Carson City fire and rescue crews are at the scene of a vehicle accident this afternoon in the southbound lane of South Carson Street and Old Clear Creek. The Nevada Highway and Carson City sheriff's deputies were also called.

Carson City fire and rescue were called to a motorcycle crash involving a vehicle in the area of William and Stewart streets.

UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department and ambulance were called to the area of the AM/PM at 4190 S Carson Street for a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle in the pump area.

Carson City residents gathered Friday in Mills Park with law officers and firefighters to remember the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The service was held surrounding a I-beam memorial that was given to Carson City in 2010 by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Among the flowers placed on the beam was as an American flag presented to the Carson City Fire Department by Michael Manfredo. The flag was given to the Carson City man by a son of one of the 343 fighters killed at the World Trade Center that day.

A memorial service to remember the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks will be held at Mills Parks Friday beginning at 8:30 a.m. The service is at the World Trade Center Steel I Beam located at the eastern edge of Mills Park in Carson City.
The beam was given to Carson City by the Port Authority of New York to mark that fateful day. The public is invited.

UPDATE From Nevada Highway Patrol: Two taken to hospital by ambulance after crash this morning on Highway 395 and Mica Drive. All lanes now open.

At least three people have been injured in a vehicle crash on Highway 395 and Mica Drive south of Carson City, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The accident is in the southbound lane and was reported at 10:48 a.m.
Carson City Fire Department was responding to the scene to transport three patients. Traffic is being re-directed.
