UPDATE 1:56PM: While the Kit Kat Fire burning east of Carson City near Mound House has been contained with 2.8 acres having burned, firefighters were called to the Silver Springs, Stagecoach area for a two-acre fire, called the Coleman Fire, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. The wildfire is burning near Coleman Drive. It was reported at 1:13 p.m.

UPDATE 9:30PM: A fire that started in the kitchen area of a Rawhide Way residence and spread into the attic was quickly knocked down Tuesday night, said Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Raw.
It started as a cooking fire and went into the exhaust system, extending into the attic, he said. It was knocked down within 15 minutes upon arrival.
