UPDATE 7:31PM: A brush fire in the Kings Canyon area was knocked down quickly early Friday evening, burning around a half acre, said Carson City Fire Department Chief Sean Slamon. There was no damage to structures in the fire. The cause is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department was called Friday afternoon to a brush fire in the Brunswick Canyon area. The fire is producing smoke in the area, according to dispatch.

The Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Nevada Division of Forestry have announced the implementation of shooting restrictions for all state and federally owned lands. In addition, the Carson City Fire Department has now implemented shooting restrictions on city and privately owned lands including “open space lands” within Carson City.

Carson City Fire Department was called late Thursday night to a structure fire in the 6700 block of Saddlehorn Road in south Carson City.

Carson City Fire Department, ambulance and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Thursday afternoon to a vehicle crash on South Carson Street near Topsy Lane.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Tuesday afternoon to a traffic accident near the intersection of Saliman and William Street.

Carson City Fire Department was called Monday night to the area of the Nevada Railroad Museum in the 2100 block of South Carson Street for a report of a railroad tie that was burning.

Carson City Fire Department and rescue were called Saturday afternoon to a single vehicle motorcycle crash in the area of Clearview and South Carson Street.

UPDATE 2:17PM: From Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch: Firefighters stopped forward progress of the Coleman Fire at around 10 acres. Resources are in the mop-up stage.

UPDATE 1:56PM: While the Kit Kat Fire burning east of Carson City near Mound House has been contained with 2.8 acres having burned, firefighters were called to the Silver Springs, Stagecoach area for a two-acre fire, called the Coleman Fire, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. The wildfire is burning near Coleman Drive. It was reported at 1:13 p.m.

A brush fire was reported burning east of Carson City near Mound House in Lyon County Saturday morning, prompting a response from Lyon County firefighters as well as Carson City Fire Department.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded early Friday night to a multi-vehicle crash in the area of Highway 50 and Fairview.

UPDATE 10PM: The Hunter Creek Fire is estimated to be around 250 acres with 35 percent containment, according to the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. Air drops will resume Friday morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire agencies from around the region including a brush engine from the Carson City Fire Department were called Thursday afternoon to assist with the Hunter Creek Fire in west Reno.

Carson City Fire Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called late Thursday morning to a traffic accident on I-580 near Fairview.

Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon reports the fire that started just before 12:30 this afternoon was knocked down shortly after firefighters arrived. The cause of the fire, between 1 to 2 acres, is under investigation. A Carson City sheriff's deputy was told by the homeowner the fire started from a lawnmower. There were no structures that burned.

Carson City firefighters with the help of a sheriff's deputy and neighbors were able to knock down a brush fire off of Meadow Wood Lane in the Lakeview area on Wednesday afternoon.

UPDATE 12:49PM: Carson City Fire Department reports making progress on the fire, with the firefighters knocking it down. The fire was about an acre in size and had been threatening nearby homes.

Carson City Fire Department was called this afternoon to the 4000 block of Meadow Wood Lane in the Lakeview area for a brush fire that is threatening homes in the Lakeview area.

Carson City emergency crews were called Monday afternoon to the area of Bigelow and Racetrack streets for an accident involving a dirt bike rider.

UPDATE MONDAY: As of 9 a.m. the fire remains 10 percent contained, according to officials.

Fire crews from around the region are responding to a brush fire that sparked near Boomtown west of Reno Sunday, according to fire officials.

UPDATE 3:30PM: A fire investigator was called following a smoldering fire inside a residence that happened in a 12 foot by 15 foot bedroom, said Carson City Fire Department On-Duty Battalion Chief Jason Danen. Firefighters arrived at the residence in the 1000 block of Koontz Lane and found smoke in a bedroom where the fire had been smoldering. The cause is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department was called late Friday afternoon to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Highway 50 and Fairview.

A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 3:45 p.m. in the 600 block of West King Street for suspicion of six felony prescription drug charges and two misdemeanor charges of violation of bail conditions, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and Nevada Highway Patrol were called Friday morning to a motorcycle crash involving a vehicle on North Carson Street, across from an RV lot near the I-580 onramp.

Carson City Fire Department was called just before noon to a brush fire in the 4000 block of Village Drive near Pheasant and Fairview.
The call came into dispatch as a brush fire moving toward trees and nearby residences.

Along with public safety agencies from around the state, members of the Carson City Fire Department participate in a bill-signing ceremony Wednesday. Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval signed two bills into law, one measure will strengthen penalties for crimes against first responders and the second will move the Nevada Firefighter's Memorial to the Capitol grounds.

Carson City Fire Department was called late Tuesday night to the Nevada Legislative Building for a report of a small fire inside the building.

UPDATE 9:30PM: A fire that started in the kitchen area of a Rawhide Way residence and spread into the attic was quickly knocked down Tuesday night, said Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Raw.
It started as a cooking fire and went into the exhaust system, extending into the attic, he said. It was knocked down within 15 minutes upon arrival.

Carson City Fire Department and Nevada Highway Patrol were called to a vehicle crash early Monday evening in the southbound lane of I-580 near Fairview.

A man who allegedly ran a red light and wouldn't stop for a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy on Sunday afternoon faces felony charges after a brief pursuit where he drove his car onto a bike path, flipped it into a ditch, which then later caught fire as it was being prepared for tow.

A 19-year-old Dayton man was arrested Tuesday for felony suspicion of battery against protected hospital staff members, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The call came into dispatch shortly before 10:50 a.m. for a report of smoke coming from the evidence room of the building.
