Carson City arrests: Man jailed for felony battery after assaulting nurses
A 19-year-old Dayton man was arrested Tuesday for felony suspicion of battery against protected hospital staff members, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Jesus Rojas was arrested at 7:05 p.m. at 1600 Medical Parkway. The suspect, a patient on a law enforcement mental health evaluation hold, allegedly punched a male nurse three times in the chest and pushed him out of a room. A deputy met with the second male nurse victim who said he was punched twice in the eye by the man and suffered a torn retina.
The assaults were witnessed by two people, a nurse and a Carson City Fire Department member. The suspect was read his Miranda rights and agreed to speak, admitting to punching the two nurses. Bail: $10,000.
In other arrests:
— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 1:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Carson Meadows for misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order. The man told the officer he did not recall being served with a restraining order. A check of the restraining orders listed showed two personal services to the man, on June 2 and on Monday, June 5. Bail: $3,137.
