UPDATE 1:23PM: Carson City emergency crews were called Friday afternoon to the area of Saliman and Fairview for a two vehicle traffic accident, the fifth accident since around 8 this morning.

Airplane crashes at Carson City Airport

UPDATE 3:17PM: The Carson City Airport is temporarily closed until further notice. The aircraft was identified as a local aircraft.

UPDATE 1:41PM: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirms the pilot was unconscious briefly following the crash and has been flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno via Care Flight. He was conscious when he left Carson City on Care Flight, said Furlong. The plane did not have any passengers.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors on Thursday didn’t hear as planned an appeal of a special use permit (SUP) for an extended stay RV park after the permit applicant withdrew the application.

UPDATE 617PM: No injuries have been reported. Those who were on the aircraft are out and not seriously injured, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant at the scene.

Another southern California dog goes missing in Carson City, public asked to help find Henry

First there was Kizzy the cattle dog who was lost and wandering for a month before being found Nov. 3 after an exhaustive search by her owner and the Carson City area community. Now there's word of another lost dog from southern California, Henry, who has been missing for two weeks.

Reno-Tahoe Airport was awarded a $20.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for runway rehabilitation, while Minden-Tahoe Airport secured $834,098 in DOT funding to install perimeter fencing and rehabilitate runway lighting.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Carson City Airport Authority. The Airport Authority is a 7-member board that oversees all matters pertaining to the Carson City airport.

Carson City rescue crews called to motorcycle crash involving vehicle on Highway 50 East

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called and a Care Flight helicopter ordered for a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon involving a vehicle in the 3500 block of Highway 50 East near Brown Street.

Last day to catch a ride on Executive Sweet B-25 Bomber in Carson City

Today is the last day to catch a ride on a World War II-era B-25 at Carson City Airport, beginning at 9 a.m. The historic B-25 “Mitchell” named “Executive Sweet” will be parked in front of the airport’s terminal building and rides are available.
