Bobby Bridger

Get a jump start on the Nevada Day weekend with Bobby Bridger. The multi talented singer/songwriter/poet/actor and playwright will perform Lakota on Thursday, October 27th at 7:30pm in the Performance Hall. Lakota is part of Bridger’s Ballad of the West Trilogy. Using Homeric verse and song, Bridger takes us to another time to tell the stories of the Mountain Men, William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, and the Lakota Sioux people.

Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours

Celebrate Nevada Day with Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours. The Carson City favorites will rock the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall on Saturday, October 29th at 7:30 pm.

Keep the Nevada Day party going when Antsy and the band bring their own special blend of music and humor to the stage. The guys combine great music, outrageous humor and the trailer park lifestyle and turn it into great fun.

Don’t miss out on the chance to party with fellow Flamingo Heads (as Troubadour fans are called ) when the Troubs come to town, get your tickets, they will go fast.

Giacomo Fiore

Giacomo Fiore brings his exciting guitar skills to the Brewery Arts Center on Saturday, October 29 at 2pm. The performance is part of the Brewery Art Center’s Classical Performance Series and is presented in collaboration with the Sierra Nevada Guitar Society.

The Italian born musician will perform both traditional and modern works to create a magical musical experience. Fiore is an imaginative and accomplished guitar player who is comfortable in a wide variety of styles. His music making has both flair and depth.

Free Film Series at the Brewery Arts Center Begins Friday

The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City and ACCtv will launch a new Friday Films Series on June 17. The family friendly fun begins with a five week series of short films for children. Admission is free. All showings are at 6:30pm in the Performance Hall.

The Film Series is an affordable way for families to spend time together this summer. Refreshment are available for purchase in the lobby prior to the show. For the complete film lineup visit www.breweryarts.org.

Booker T to Headline Annual “Concert Under the Stars”

The 3rd annual Concert Under the Stars will rock Carson City on July 13th behind Adele’s Restaurant and Lounge. Grammy Winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Booker T will headline the event. The soul legend will perform music from his critically acclaimed new album “The Road from Memphis” as well as old favorites. Also performing, Sonoma based Frobeck. The band’s unique blend of pop, funk and rock has been wowing audiences since 2005. Reno favorite The Mighty Surf Lords will open the show.

The Brewery Art Center to Highlight Nevada’s Paiute History

Explore part of Nevada’s Native American History through the language and the stories of the Walker River Paiute Tribe with Andy Allen on Saturday, May 21st at 2p.m. in Carson City. The performance is part of the Brewery Art Center's “Cultures of Nevada” Matinee Series.

Allen’s captivating stories about his tribe will both entertain and educate. Audience members will also learn some basic Paiute words and phrases. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to experience Nevada’s rich history together.

It's "big-band jazz times two" when the Mile High Jazz Band presents the eighth annual Mile High-Carson High Jazz Extravaganza, on Friday, January 21, 2011, 8:00 p.m., at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street, Carson City. The concert, sponsored by the Brewery Arts Center and the Mile High Jazz Band Association, is a benefit for the Carson High Jazz Band programs.

Brewery Arts Center in Carson City names John Shelton as Executive Director

Carson City's primary arts service organization has a new executive director. John M. Shelton was hired this week by the board of directors as the Brewery Art Center's leader and executive director.

'None of the Above' Political Satire featured during Nevada Day weekend

Wild Horse Theater Company is proud to present the world premiere of Robert Leonard Reid’s None of the Above!”, a satirical song, dance, and comedy revue that lampoons the 2012 Presidential election.None of the Above!”  will be presented in the Maizie Harris Jesse Theater at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King Street in Carson City. Show dates are Fridays and Saturdays, October 19, 20, 26, 27, November 2, 3 @ 7:30PM and Sundays, October 21, 28 @ 2:00PM.

 

Stage is set for Concert Under the Stars on July 14 in Carson City

With the Capital City filled with daytime summer events, the night will come alive on Wednesday, July 14, with the second annual Concert Under the Stars. at Adele's Restaurant and Lounge in Carson City.

2nd Annual Concert Under the Stars, Carson City Greenhouse Project Benefit

The summer heats up with the 2nd annual “Concert Under the Stars” July 14th behind Adele’s Restaurant and Lounge in Carson City. Proceeds benefit Carson City’s Greenhouse Project. “Sons of Champlin” will headline the event. Led by former Chicago singer and band member Bill Champlin, the Sons are one of the pioneering bay area bands from the 1960s music scene and continue to rock audiences today. Local band Southpaw Freddie will open the show.

Brewery Arts Center Membership Kickoff Concert in Carson City

The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City will soon announce a new membership plan. To kick it off the BAC will host a free concert on Friday, May 14 featuring highly acclaimed Travis Brass, the chamber ensemble of the United States Airforce Band of the Golden West.

Buddy Holly Sock Hop fundraiser at Brewery Arts Center

The Buddy Holly Sock Hop upcoming at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson Ceity will bring out the Big Bopper or Peggy Sue in you The fundraising event is set for Saturday evening, April 10, featuring the music of 1950s legend Buddy Holly and contemporaries of his rock ‘n roll era.

Bob Reid and the Rave-Ons will provide live music in the Buddy Holly tradition, including such mega-hits as Rave On, That’ll Be the Day and Peggy Sue. The 7-to-10 p.m. dance will offer not only live music and era recordings, but also has on tap food and beverages from malt shop favorites down to today.
