Dry conditions, light winds and warm weather will continue for the Carson City region through Wednesday before a mostly wind-driven weather system arrives Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

It might be a blustery Sunday, but the snow isn’t falling yet so enjoy what’s left of our Indian Summer. Whatever you couldn’t cram into Saturday is probably still around: the Aviation Round-up, Italian Festival, and the Outhouse races are still going strong. Some weekends are pretty cut and dry, just a few things to choose among. This, however, is not one of those weekends. High-flying, death-defying action takes over the Minden Airport as the Aviation Roundup Air Show takes to the skies. Pasta-lovers won’t want to miss the Eldorado Great Italian Festival in downtown Reno. Carson City’s monthly Downtown Wine Walk gets a dose of nostalgia as the Western Airstream Convention sets up shop and welcomes the curious.

This weekend is going to be packed. Join in solidarity with our famous city to the south by wearing blue and silver today and attending the Candlelight Vigil at the Capitol Building.

It's National Register to Vote Day - Carson residents can go to the County Clerk's office in the Courthouse. While you're there, head to the CCAI Gallery on the second floor to catch the last few days of the 'Industrial Art: Sports Edition' exhibit.

CARSON CITY — A Nevada Army Guard CH-47 Chinook helicopter crew will fly to Texas Wednesday to assist emergency responders in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The Chinook helicopter crew is set to assist the Texas National Guard with search and rescue missions in the Houston, Texas, vicinity.

MINDEN, Nev. — A helicopter made a hard landing Sunday afternoon at the Minden-Tahoe Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration reported.

Minden, NV. – Douglas County Minden-Tahoe Airport is pleased to announce the addition of Canada’s CF-18 Demo Team to the Aviation Roundup. RENO, Nev. — Sarah Hunt never enjoyed the girlie lifestyle. She begrudgingly wore feminine clothes at McQueen High. At Nevada, Hunt played Division 1 softball and soccer where she was more comfortable around campus wearing gender-neutral athletic sweats and sportswear as opposed to dresses and high heels.

Visitors from throughout the region stopped in at the Carson City Municipal Airport Saturday to see vintage aircraft at the annual Fly-In Open House.

Attention all aircraft enthusiasts: The Carson City Airport will hold is annual Open House this Saturday, June 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free event, which draws more than 6,000 visitors, takes place at the Carson City Airport, 2600 College Parkway.

A storm system pushing into the region on Thursday has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory for Carson City, Carson Valley, Dayton and much of western Nevada and the Sierra.

Another atmospheric river is headed our way today through Tuesday bringing periods of torrential rain and strong winds to Carson City, the valley areas and several feet of snow to the Sierra and Lake Tahoe, according to the National Weather Service.
