Carson City’s 'Concept E Bikes' opens retail shop on South Carson Street
Concept E Bikes has been providing bicycles with electric motors seamlessly built into their design throughout Carson City for over two years, based out of their location on Research Way.
Two months ago, they opened a retail location in the old Artisan Cafe building on S. Carson Street, to bring a showroom of their bikes directly to consumers.
According to Russell Landfield, the company had been selling many of their locally made Concept E Bikes, and decided to make the jump to a new retail location.
"A majority of our customers, probably 80 to 90 percent, are all local," said Landfield. "At this location, they can come bring their bikes in if they need any servicing, which is convenient for our customers."
In addition to servicing the bikes, the retail location also sells the various E bike models in addition to parts and accessories.
According to Landfield, the popularity of the Concept E bike has grown because it has gotten a lot of seniors back into bicycling.
"Many may not have as much energy as they used to, but want to keep riding," said Landfield. "The E bike allows them to get out there by taking on daunting hills or long stretches."
The bikes, which look like any other ordinary bicycle, can go up to 25 mph and one charge can last multiple commutes before needing to be recharged.
The company is also offering a holiday sale, and free test rides are always provided to potential customers.
