Carson City arrests: Man flushing items in casino toilet booked for multiple felony offenses

Two Mono County, Calif., residents were arrested Monday for suspected felony and misdemeanor offenses. Of the two, one was booked for suspicion four counts of being in possession of credit cards without the owner's consent, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office report.

Federal grant to aid in Reno's real-time transit infrastructure monitoring

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County will receive $131,661 to partner with the University of Nevada to demonstrate real-time transit infrastructure monitoring in the City of Reno through FTA’s Real-Time Asset Management program.

Be a part of bringing hope by voting on contestant art pieces to decide the “Social Media Fave” in the Donor Network West annual art contest. Four Carson High students, Anthony Larry, Connor Lampert, Danielle Van Dusen, and Sarai Jauregui Rivas made the first cut, though all of CHS Graphic Design Instructor Patricia Ababio’s students submitted entries.

Some Nevada Day revelers to parade along Carson Street on their own

With Nevada Day festivities rolling this week without the coveted official parade along Carson Street, some have noted on social media their intention to rally their own independent parades.

While not illegal or encouraged, the Carson City Sheriff's Office is staffed up to make sure that whoever chooses to do anything non-sanctioned, including independent parading on Carson Street, that whatever they choose to do is done without breaking the law.
