A 37-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon and parole and probation violation, a Carson City sheriff's booking report states.

A 34-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Saturday by the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team for suspicion of child abuse causing substantial bodily harm, burglary, grand larceny, possession of meth and heroin and other charges.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting will be held Dec. 5 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

On the docket for discussion is the sale of property to Carson Tahoe Regional Health Care, development of affordable/workforce housing near Butti Way, purchasing a new radio dispatch console system and public safety audio equipment and more.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were dispatched late Sunday afternoon to a vehicle accident in the area of Highway 50 East near Sherman Lane.

Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were called Thursday afternoon to the area of West Ninth and South Division for a man discovered dead and bloody in a garage with circumstances appearing suspicious, according to dispatch.

A transient faces multiple charges including attempted murder, two counts battery with a deadly weapon and two counts assault with a deadly weapon following Friday night's stabbing of a Carson City deputy in which the deputy fired five shots at the suspect, Sheriff Ken Furlong said Monday.

UPDATE 1:35AM: The standoff at the Pheasant Drive home ended tonight at around 1:30 a.m. when a flash bang charge was placed on the door; the device exploded and the suspect came out of the home with his hands up, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

As of about 1:50 p.m. there were 115 customers without power. See the map above. Calls to 911 dispatch were reports of people hearing an explosion in the area of Thompson Street, with lights flickering and then going out.

Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatch received multiple 911 calls Wednesday night reporting a large object, likely to be a meteor, that broke up over the skies above Carson City. Locally, the debris was seen as far west as Lake Tahoe and into the Mound House, Dayton and Brunswick Canyon areas.

A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday on felony suspicion of embezzlement, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Carson City Fire Department responded early Wednesday afternoon to the area of Emerson and Arrowhead for a vehicle that hit a motor scooter. The accident was reported at 12:13 p.m.

A woman sustained non-life threatening injuries after the vehicle she was driving plunged 300 to 400 feet off an embankment into a canyon east of Carson City on Saturday morning, a Carson City sheriff’s sergeant said.

Five people were arrested Friday on various felony charges after a vehicle was reported stolen from a Nevada Street residence, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Four of the five were arrested at 5:58 a.m. during a high risk traffic stop involving a black Camaro at the intersection of Harbin and Musser streets in Carson City.

A California man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on a felony embezzlement warrant issued in 2010, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

UPDATE: According to Melanie Porter, Carson City Deputy District Attorney, the suspect has been charged with the following: Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Battery. The District Attorney's Office has not charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 20-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Monday on felony drug charges after he allegedly used pepper spray on a homeless man and then called 911 dispatch to report what he had done, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Tuesday morning at 5 a.m., the Carson City Sheriff’s Office implemented upgrades made to the key public safety infrastructure system known as Tiburon. The 18-month, $1.2 million project was funded by the Board of Supervisors last year.
