Outside, employee Tabatha Hughes barbecued hot dogs; inside, a stand of cupcakes and cake decorated to look like a Super Nintendo stood on a display as owners Nick and Mandy Posey (Mandy was decked out in full Super Mario gear) watched on with pride.
Reno Jazz Orchestra Brings the Funk of James Brown to Town

This high energy night on the town will feature the Reno Jazz Orchestra’s 18 piece big band and special guest stars performing James Brown hits such as Living in America, The Big Payback, and Cold Sweat, as well as other funk greats such as Tower of Power’s What is Hip and Soul Vaccination.

To help launch the citywide music festival, Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] will host artists selling their art at the Bliss Mansion prior to the 7pm concert. The art sale will take place Friday, August 7 from 3-6:30pm on the porch, 608 Elizabeth Street, Carson City. The free events include art for sale, music, food, and a lovely home and garden to tour. The public is cordially invited.

Ambrosia, Pablo Cruise to headline Concert Under the Stars benefit for Greenhouse Project
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 03/07/2015 - 6:44pmThe 7th annual Concert Under the Stars, a benefit for the Greenhouse Project, will feature a July 8 double billing with 70's and 80's smooth classic rock powerhouses Ambrosia and Pablo Cruise.
The concert was announced by Cafe at Adele’s owner Charlie Abowd on his Facebook page Saturday. Ticket sales will be announced soon. The show is produced by John Procaccini of Chili Bop Entertainment and will be in the back outside area of Adele's Restaurant and Lounge.

Weather Service issues Heat Advisory for Carson City region

Strong high pressure over Nevada will bring mostly sunny and very hot conditions through early this evening. Areas in western Nevada will reach triple digits with many areas in the Sierra reaching the upper 80's to low 90's. Anticipated highs for Dayton are 103 today, and 102 for Carson City, and near 100 in Carson Valley, according to the weather service.

Heat continues with a chance of thunderstorms

Some areas in western Nevada will reach triple digits again with many areas in the Sierra reaching the upper 80's to lower 90's. Carson City is forecast Sunday to reach 97 and 101 on Monday, with Tuesday around 99, according to the National Weather Service.

Known for churning out the classics from the 1970s and 80's, Baker Street has developed a loyal Northern Nevada fan base, with its guitar-driven licks and crisp vocal stylings. There's no better way to celebrate summer than with music that rocks to it.
The Firkin Friday's outdoor concert is at 310 South Carson Street. There will be plenty of food, barbecue and drink specials going on inside.
