NHP seeks information on Interstate 80 fatal pedestrian crash near Boomtown
On Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at approximately 8:23 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to a single vehicle versus a pedestrian on Interstate 80 at mile marker 4, in the Boomtown area.
A preliminary investigation shows a silver Nissan Pathfinder was traveling westbound on IR-80 in the far right travel lane. A pedestrian was standing on the westbound paved outside shoulder of IR-80.
For unknown reasons, the pedestrian entered the far right travel lane directly in front of the Nissan Pathfinder. The pedestrian, Martha Rodriguez-Guerrero, 50, of Sparks, was declared deceased at the scene.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is seeking additional witnesses to this crash.
