Bright object seen moving across Northern Nevada sky
Facebook newsgroup members of Dayton Peeps and the Minden/Gardnerville Community blog and MyNews4.com have received several reports of a large, bright object moving across the sky Tuesday evening after 6 p.m.
Carol Cowell of the Dayton Peeps newsgroup said it looked like "either the biggest shooting star ever or perhaps a satellite." Meanwhile, Tina Padovano of the Minden/Gardnerville Facebook group said she saw the object move toward Smith Valley and that it had a long tail trailing behind it. She guesses it was "either a meteor, UFO or Santa."
MyNews4.com viewers report they saw a bright, orange light moving southeast. One person said he heard a large boom. An apparent meteor has also been reported above Las Vegas and Southern California, the news station reports.
