Watch it Live: Carson City Board of Supervisors
The Carson City Board of Supervisors meet today beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center 851 East William Street. Go here for the agenda and here to watch it live.
Today is the last day for City Manager Larry Werner who is retiring. He will be presented with a proclamation congratulating him for his service and his retirement.
Among matters the Board will address: Reports from the health department summarizing current activities, a presentation on the progress of the Community Health Plan with improvements to mental health.
As the city's Redevelopment Authority, the Board will discuss using money for improvements to Fuji Park for 2014 2014 Sesquicentennial Fair activities.
At around 3 p.m. the city will take up proposed expenditure plans for the city's Animal Services Facility, a Multipurpose Athletic Facility, and corridor improvements to the downtown, north Carson Street, south Carson Street and Highway 50 East improvements.
Because the potential funding for the projects involves Infrastructure tax of a 1/8th cent sales tax, a public hearing must be held prior to adoption of the plan and the imposition the sales tax. Supervisors will eview and modify as necessary the projects contained in the Plan of Expenditure and to set the date for the public hearing to consider the adoption of the plan of expenditure, according to the staff report.
