Carson High School student raises more than $1,000 for local cancer patients
Kimberly Parsons, a Carson High School senior and dedicated member of the Key Club, organized and implemented a fundraising campaign for area cancer patients as her senior project. In doing so, Parsons sold cancer awareness themed t-shirts, wristbands, and baked goods throughout the campaign, raising a total of $1,245.
Parsons presented a check to the Carson Tahoe Health Foundation in Carson City on Tuesday, generously donating proceeds to benefit area cancer patient support which is then distributed through the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center.
“Knowing how big the need for support is among our local cancer patients, it is especially inspiring to see an earnest young woman take the initiative to do so much to help people in her community,” said Kitty McKay, Development Officer, Carson Tahoe Health Foundation. “Kimberly is an amazing person and we are so grateful for her passionate support.”
Carson Tahoe Health is grateful to be supported by such caring community partners, of all ages, willing to make a difference. For more information or to make a donation, please call (775) 445-5165.
