Homestead Holidays in Carson City begins today, continues through weekend with old fashion country celebration
The first Homestead Holidays arrived in 2019 at Silver Saddle Ranch in Carson City, bringing a free, community evening event to the capital city that was filled with old-fashioned Christmas charm.
This year, Homestead Holidays returns Dec. 10-12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Silver Saddle Ranch, a working ranch located at 2648 Carson River Road as part of Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space.
The homestead-themed holiday event includes carriage rides, pictures with Santa, a Letters to Santa table along with a mailbox sending directly to the North Pole, and much more.
Food, live music, arts and crafts, holiday raffles, and much more can all be found on the cozy Silver Saddle Ranch grounds.
This year, be sure to check out the Trees for Charity addition to the event.
Twenty freshly-cut trees are being donated from the Forest Service and hung with presents and gift cards sponsored by local businesses.
The trees will then be raffled off, and winners will be able to take home their tree along with their attached winnings. All proceeds from the raffle and tree sponsorship will go towards the local charity For Kids Foundation.
Make sure to come hungry for Hillbilly Chili, and wear your dancing shoes.
Live music will be provided by Sierra Sweethearts on Friday Carolyn Dolan Music on Saturday, and Sagebrush Rebels on Sunday.
Are you looking to add to your family this holiday season? Come by Friday night for a pet adoption by the Humane Society and find your newest furry family member.
The Carson City Library will also be hosting a story time each night around 5:15 p.m. on the historic grounds for children and children at heart.
Stop by Silver Saddle Ranch for the second annual Homestead Holidays, and experience the Christmas Spirit the old-fashioned way.
