Supervisor Abowd seeks input on upcoming policy decisions before the board
With so many important issues up for discussion, this month’s walkabout Friday, Dec. 13 may be more pressing than usual, said Carson City Supervisor Karen Abowd.
Topics for this month include the proposed sales tax increase to help fund a no-kill animal shelter in Carson City, the East-North-South Corridors Project and The Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada’s multi-use activity center, which would be a city project for use by The Boys & Girls Club, but would also provide additional space where conventions and a variety of other activities to help promote Carson City, could be conducted.
“There are some very important issues on the table, and everyone’s input matters,” Abowd said.
The walkabouts are conducted every second Friday, in keeping with a campaign promise Abowd made to keep the lines of communication open.
Anyone is invited to meet at the Carson City Community Center steps at noon, and are encouraged to take a bag lunch. Bring your ideas, questions and comments for a productive hour-long discussion and stroll through Mills Park, and be sure to bundle up.
