Carson City arrests: Man booked for alleged domestic battery with gun, other felony offenses
A 37-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and prohibited person in possession of a firearm, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Adrian Troy Abram II, listed as being a Lakewood, Wash., resident, was taken into custody at 7:23 p.m. in the 300 block of East Winnie Lane following an investigation. According to the booking report, CCSO deputies responded to the 1800 block of North Carson Street for a keep the peace call.
Dispatch advised a person called to request a deputy to respond to the location while she recovered personal items. Dispatch obtained information on the man, later identified as Abram. Dispatch was advised the man had put a gun to the woman's head and threatened to kill her earlier that morning, the report states.
A deputy made contact with the victim who said she was in an argument earlier that morning in which Abram became angry and placed a gun to her head and threatened to kill her, the report states. The deputy immediately observed the woman was hesitant and fearful to answer questions regarding the incident. She stated she became frightened when he did this and that she was able to run the door. She stated she owned two handguns that were registered in her name and located in her apartment.
After confirming the man was not in the apartment, deputies entered along with the woman to search for her firearms but could not find them. A deputy searched the vehicle and did not locate the firearms. Officers were informed by another person that they were fearful of the man, according to the report.
The victim stated she did not want to report the incident and just wanted to get some clothing and leave. Deputies attempted to locate the man and found him entering a nearby dry-cleaning facility a short time later. A detective entered the facility and attempted to make contact with the man. Seconds after the detective entered the facility, the man ran from the location, which was captured on the the business security camera as well as traffic cameras in the area, according to the report.
Abram was located and detained several hours later within a few blocks of the apartment. The man admitted to returning to the apartment to change his clothing. A request of a secondary search of the apartment was asked of the victim, who gave permission via telephone, at which time one firearm was located.
While interviewing the man, he was asked about the incident in which he is alleged to have placed a gun to the head of the victim and threatened to kill her. The man responded with "that did not happen," the arrest report states. He did not elaborate or explain the circumstances surrounding the accusation. He only provided information regarding text messages from the woman from several months prior that did not pertain to the incident itself, according to the report.
The officer determined the man was not being truthful about the situation as he attempted to distract the officer with questions and old text messages. The man claimed he was not aware of the uniformed deputy who entered the store shortly after him. He explained he ran away from the area because of an unmarked vehicle with tinted windows. He was booked for suspicion of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and being a probated person in possession of a firearm. Bail: $30,000.
