Carson City Santa Train steams up for 38th year this holiday season
This holiday season, take a ride filled with Christmas cheer, treats and a visit with St. Nick himself!
The Carson City Santa Train will steam up for its 38th year on weekends this December, a family favorite event in the capital city.
The wintery weekend train ride features historic equipment from the Virginia & Truckee Railroad, courtesy of the Nevada State Railroad Museum, located at 2180 South Carson St.
Visit with Santa Claus and receive a candy cane aboard the train.
While waiting for your ticket, be sure to write a letter to Santa at the “Letters to Santa” table. Hot beverages will be available from Bon Fire Coffee Collective, along with raffle prizes and more!
A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase in advance at the admission desk for each weekend (when available), but walk up tickets will be available for purchase for each train.
Boarding time takes place fifteen minutes before departure time so riders can find their seats and prepare for the Christmas cheer. Walk up tickets are available for every ride on event days.
The train runs Dec. 10-11 and again on Dec. 17-18. The cost to ride is $5 per person, but children two years of age and under are welcome to sit on a lap for free.
Santa Train departs every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
