Carson City emergency crews called to crash involving student pedestrian near high school
UPDATE 9AM: Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Tuesday morning to a vehicle crash involving a student pedestrian on North Saliman Road near Carson High School.
One person reportedly suffered injuries to the leg, according to a first responder on scene. The crash was reported by dispatch around 7:43 a.m.
Carson City Fire Department Chief Sean Slamon said the patient was taken by ground ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
The student's condition is unknown at this time.
Carson City School District released the following statement from Superintendent Andrew Feuling:
"The Carson City Sheriff’s Office confirmed a pedestrian/car accident involving a Carson High School student on North Saliman Road near the crosswalk at Mills Park. Law enforcement reported the injured student has been transported to Renown Regional Medical Center. District officials plead for drivers in the greater Carson City area to take extra caution in school zones, around bus stops and near crosswalks throughout the city."
