Carson City Supervisor Karen Abowd hosts Friday walkabout meeting
Carson City Supervisor Karen Abowd hosts her monthly walkabout Friday, Nov. 8. This month, she will be discussing the city manager, the proposed animal shelter and East-North-South Corridors Project.
Anyone wanting clarification about the new water and sewer rates, or who may have questions about the reasons rates were increased, are encouraged to attend.
The walkabouts are conducted every second Friday at noon, in keeping with a campaign promise Abowd made to keep the lines of communication open.
“Part of my job as supervisor is to know how people think and feel about issues and topics we are trying to address,” she said. “Meeting with folks and hearing their thoughts and concerns helps me do a better job.”
Everyone is invited to meet at the Carson City Community Center steps at noon, and are encouraged to take a bag lunch. Bring your ideas, questions and comments for a productive hour-long discussion and stroll through Mills Park.
