Carson Chamber Singers featured in Nov. 1 Reno concert, Nov. 2 in Carson City
The Carson Chamber Singers, a choral group of the Carson City Symphony Association, begins its 29th season with a pair of a cappella concerts directed by Michael Langham in Reno and Carson City.
The first concert, Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m., will be at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Ave., Reno. The program will be repeated on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m., at the Brewery Arts Center Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King Street, Carson City.
The varied program includes a traditional American spiritual, I've Been in the Storm So Long, arranged by Jeffrey L. Ames in response to Hurricane Katrina; This Marriage by Eric Whitacre with words from a 13th century poem; How Blest are They by Tchaikovsky; and other selections.
Tickets are $10 general admission and free for age 16 and under. Tickets are available in advance at CCSymphony.com, at Play Your Own Music in the Carson Mall, or at the door. Carson City Symphony flex tickets also will be accepted.
