When The Unexpected Happens
Monday, Aug. 27, was a day that changed the life of Tiffany Day, 16, her best friend Marina Holcomb, 16, their families and their friends. It was the day that the two friends got into a car wreck.
Day, according to a blog that is being maintained by the family, suffered a head injury with skull and orbital fractures, a broken pelvis and collar bone, trauma to her lungs and an onset of pneumonia. She is presently at Renown Health.
According to her friend, Holcomb, who suffered no injuries, the two friends were driving south on Carson Street in Carson City when the car collided with another. Day’s car flipped and she suffered serious injuries, according to Holcomb.
Teacher Brian Reedy, who has been in contact with Day and her family since the accident, said Day has continued to improve. She is finally off all of her meds and is waking up on her own. She can move her head and her hands to communicate to the doctors and her many, many guests.
