Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Pair booked on drug charges, pistol recovered following pursuit
Two men were arrested Wednesday night following a brief foot pursuit with officers that began in the downtown area. A handgun with a loaded chamber, cocaine and marijuana were recovered, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested were Reed Harber Skenandore, 21, and Jonathan Skenandore, 18, both of Carson City. According to the booking report, an officer attempted to make a traffic stop at 10:49 p.m. that turned into foot pursuit.
Another deputy assigned to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team located the pair hiding behind a tree near North Division and West Caroline. The officer activated his lights. Both men, who were sweating and out of breath, stopped running and sat on the curb, the arrest report states.
During the search of Reed Skenandore, the officer found a magazine for a 1911 style handgun. The officer asked him where the gun was at. The man didn’t respond. During the investigation, a sergeant recovered a small bag that contained around a gram of cocaine from Jonathan Skenandore, along with $345 in cash, the report states.
Another deputy did a search of the area and recovered a Rock Island Armory 1911 pistol with a magazine inserted, a round in the chamber and a waistband holster used to conceal a firearm, the arrest report states.
Also found nearby was a white PVC pipe that contained marijuana. During the investigation, Reed Skenandore spontaneously uttered it was his firearm. He was read his Miranda rights in which he said he understood and chose not to speak. He was taken to jail. During transport it was learned that he had spit in the back of a patrol vehicle, the arrest report states.
Reed Skenandore was booked on charges of being a person prohibited to carry a firearm, possession of a concealed weapon, obstructing, and possession of marijuana. Bail: $25,000. Jonathan Skenandore faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor obstructing. Bail: $2,912.
In other arrests: A 24-year-old Carson City woman, Heather Renee Moeller, was arrested Wednesday, 9:36 p.m. in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East on felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, and three lesser charges.
According to the arrest report, a deputy spoke with the woman while conducting a business check at a casino. The officer asked for identification and the woman replied she didn’t have any. She gave the officer a name and date of birth, which dispatch was not able to verify. The woman was advised she was being untruth. She then gave the deputy her correct name and birthdate. Dispatch advised she had two confirmed misdemeanor warrants, the arrest report states.
The woman was searched where officers found a plastic baggie of methamphetamine, a tooter straw commonly used to inhale narcotics, two razor blades and a methamphetamine pipe. She was arrested on suspicion of felony possession, and misdemeanor possession and the two warrants. Bail: $5,500.
— A Yerington woman was booked into jail Thursday, 12:40 a.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, contempt of court, issued June 9, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $855.
— An Austin, Nev., man was booked into jail Tuesday, 11 a.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Oct. 13, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
