Carson City residents asked to bundle yard debris for fall pick-up schedule
With the fall weather whipping the leaves off trees and into streets and yards, Carson City is preparing for its fall pick-up yard debris schedule by reminding residents to take pride in the city by pruning trees, shrubs and raking leaves.
Beginning Monday, residents can call the Public Works Operations Division to be put on a list for free yard debris pick up. Leaves must be bagged; the limbs must be less than six feet long tied in bundles and no larger that 4" in diameter.
Bags and bundles cannot exceed 60 pounds each or they will not be picked up. Public works must limit the material we pickup to vegetation only (leaves, limbs, prunings, etc.) and cannot accept items such as household garbage, old appliances, furniture or lumber.
Residents are asked to place the material they wish to have picked up near the curb in plain view by November 5 at 7:30 a.m. Public Works crews will begin pickups on Monday, November 5 at 7:30 a.m. and go through Thursday, November 15 at 5:30 p.m.
There will be no pickups for this year after Thursday, November 15.
On Monday, October 22 residents can call Public Works at (7785) 887-2355 to be put on the list for FREE pick up. Requests will be taken through Thursday, Nov. 1 at 5:30 p.m.
