Carson City deputies team up with Special Olympics Nevada for Tip-A-Cop at Applebee's
Applebee’s will partner with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday to host a Tip-A-Cop event to benefit Special Olympics Nevada.
Local law enforcement officials will serve as “celebrity waiters” at Applebee’s, and 100-percent of their tips will be donated directly to Special Olympics. The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Applebee's, 3300 S Carson Street, Carson City.
Tip-A-Cop is an annual fundraising event organized by The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, where law enforcement officers volunteer their time as “celebrity waiters” in restaurants and receive tips to raise funds for Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities.
Apple American Group, the largest Applebee’s franchisee in the country, pledges to assist and support those institutions that enhance the quality of life in the communities it serves. Each restaurant stays engaged in its neighborhood through participation in community events, donations, sponsorships and fundraisers to help local organizations grow and flourish, and takes care of their own team members through the Flynn Restaurant Group Family Fund.
Meanwhile, Applebee’s of Reno will also hold a similar Tip-A-Cop event, 5 to 8 p.m. at Firecreek Crossing, 4805 Kietzke Lane, Reno.
