Carson City Fall Job Fair set for Friday at community center
With two successful job fairs this year that have sent more than 100 people to work locally, the third Carson City Job Fair will be held Friday, Oct. 4, at the Carson City Community Center. There will be 45 employers on hand to talk to job seekers and to accept resumes.
Hosted by Carson City Health and Human Services, JOIN and The Carson City Chamber of Commerce, the Fall Job Fair will be open to the public from 2 to 5 p.m. it will be held in the large gym area of the community center, 851 E. William Street.
"If I could stress anything to job seekers that will be attending it would be to come prepared, bring several copies of your resume, and dress to impress," said Lynn Ellis, WorkForce Program Case Manager for Carson City Health and Human Services.
After surveying employers from the June job fair, Ellis urged job seekers to follow up in the days following the fair..
"We surveyed the employers from the June job fair and some of the feed back that we received was that some people did not follow up with them after the fair," she said. "My advice is to follow up, follow through. Make this event a life changer for you."
