Carson City detectives seek man who attempted to use counterfeit money at casino

CARSON CITY, Nev. –– Carson High School Career and Technical Education has added Health Information Management, HIM, to its Health Science and Public Safety Career Cluster for the 2017-2018 school year.

On Friday, October 6th, the Sierra Lutheran Cross Country team traveled to Winnemucca for a meet. The race covered 3.1 miles and was run on the Winnemucca Golf Course.

The presentation of “W is for Wungnema” was held Saturday, October 7th, at the Stewart Community Baptist Church in Carson City and was a huge success. There were approximately 125–150 guests in attendance and a good time was had by all who attended.

A 45 year-old transient man and 31 year-old Mound House woman were arrested Friday evening at 6:23 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Carson Street for felony suspicion of drug trafficking and possession of methamphetamine offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

UPDATE 10:07PM: Detectives with the Lyon County Sheriff's Office along with investigators and specialists from the DPS Investigations Division and the Forensic Investigation Section continue to actively pursue the cause and circumstances of the three deaths discovered in Silver Springs on Saturday night.
According to Sheriff Al McNeil, based on the investigation so far detectives are confident there is no threat to the community.

I was out watering a few days ago and I noticed yellowjacket wasps crawling on the ground. I mentioned to my friend Will that I thought yellowjackets bite rather than sting. He said he didn’t think so, saying not only did they sting, but they could sting repeatedly. Well, he was right, but so was I.

Dozens of iconic Airstream trailers were parked throughout downtown Carson City Saturday — including about 16 of them in the parallel pull-outs along the redesigned North Carson Street — for "Airstreams On Main," an international rally event held for the first time in the Nevada state capital.

A group of canines, including rescues and therapy dogs, pose in front of the Nevada Governor's Mansion on Mountain Street during an evening walk with their owners Friday in Carson City's historic west side neighborhood.

The governor's residence is dressed in fall and Halloween decorations for the season.
