Carson City arrests: Man jailed for alleged sex assault of 12-year-old
A 35-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of multiple sex crimes involving a minor under the age of 14, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Jose Manuel Arias Valencia was taken into custody following an investigation by the Carson City Sheriff's Office. He was arrested for suspicion of sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14, three counts lewdness with a minor under 14 and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation that led to the arrest involved the suspect staying at the residence where the 12-year-old victim lived. The alleged abuse happened over the past two months, where the suspect entered the victim's room, according to the booking report.
The suspect was read his Miranda rights. He disclosed to investigators three incidents that happened with the 12-year-old juvenile at the residence. He was arrested for suspicion of sexual assault of a minor, three counts lewdness with a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia (a meth pipe.) Bail: $100,000.
