Carson City area weather for Labor Day weekend: Cooling down with plenty of sunshine
A cold front will move through the Carson City region Saturday night into Sunday bringing cooler temperatures, occasional breezy conditions and a slight chance for a few showers mainly north of Interstate 80, according to the National Weather Service.
Freezing temperatures and frost are possible for higher elevation Sierra valleys with spotty frost for some of the colder lower valleys, weather service forecasters say.
For Carson City, Carson Valley, Dayton and Virginia City areas, daytime high temperatures Saturday through Monday will be in the mid to low 70s with night time lows around 50 Saturday night, and the low 40s for Sunday and Monday nights.
For the Lake Tahoe Basin, daytime highs will be in the mid 60s Saturday, low 60s on Sunday and mid-60s Monday. Night time lows will range from the mid 40s to high 30s and near freezing overnight and early morning in the higher elevations.
