Free 'ABCs of Medicare' educational seminar in Carson City
Those getting ready to turn 65 years of age will have the opportunity to learn from local experts at the "ABCs of Medicare" seminar held Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. at 911 Topsy Lane, Suite 230 in South Carson City.
Sponsored by Senior Care Plus, this free educational seminar will also be held in South Reno at 10315 Professional Circle.
“Medicare coverage can be confusing for individuals coming off of commercial insurance, so we present the ABCs of Medicare seminar each month to help ensure newly eligible Medicare beneficiaries understand the advantages and disadvantages of the different parts of Medicare so they can make the right choice in plans," said Senior Care Plus Manager C.J. Bawden.
"From supplements, to Advantage plans to prescription drug coverage, the 'ABCs of Medicare' seminar explains it all,” Bawden said. “We are a local company and want to make sure our community knows they can stop by and talk to a real person when they have questions.”
The 90-minute seminar covers the “parts” of Medicare — A, B, C and D — as well as eligibility and enrollment options and how to personalize Medicare options based on individual needs. The seminar will break down original Medicare coverage, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans in addition to giving in-depth information about the Medicare prescription drug coverage programs.
The ABCs of Medicare will be presented by Christopher Gourlay, Robert Chiselko, Emily Weddle and Deborah Suttmiller with Hometown Health, Northern Nevada’s largest and only locally-owned not-for-profit insurance company.
All the presenters are well versed in Medicare and can answer any questions.
The seminar is purely educational in nature and not a sales meeting. Seating is limited.
