Bomb threat reported at Kohl's, building evacuated
A bomb threat reported Wednesday afternoon at Kohl's department store in Carson City prompted an evacuation. Nothing was found after an intense search of the store, authorities reported Wednesday night.
The threat was phoned in by a man said to be angry and speaking with a raspy voice, according to a 911 dispatch report.
Sheriff Ken Furlong confirmed the threat was called into the store and the building was evacuated at around 3;10 p.m. Deputies continue to investigate the threat. The caller told the employee to call him "sir" and said he was "pissed off" and that there was a bomb in the building. He told the employee to "look where you will never find it" and that it could be in luggage or in a backpack. The caller may have been phoning from a cell phone given that the employee said they heard wind in the background.
The store is located at 3871 South Carson Street.
