Power ballad rocker, reality TV star Bret Michaels at Lake Tahoe Nov. 29
STATELINE — Rocker, reality star, philanthropist and front man for the enduring rock ’n’ roll band Poison, Bret Michaels, will bring all the roses and a generous supply of power ballads to Lake Tahoe’s MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa stage in a one-night-only, solo show, Saturday, Nov. 29.
Michaels first rose to fame with Poison, the fast, air tight, glam rock group that launched a number of hard driving party songs in the 1980s and ’90s, achieving massive success on the charts and in record sales. Michaels gained critical acclaim as the voice and writer behind Poison’s smash hit “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and, later, as a successful solo artist, television icon and generous backer to charitable causes including the American Diabetes Association.
Tickets are $52.50 and $62.50, plus a $3 facility fee, and available through Ticketmaster.com via montbleuresort.com or by calling the MontBleu Box Office at (888) 829-7630 for the 9 p.m. show.
Known as the hard rocker with a big heart, Michaels maintains a successful solo career outside of Poison, including television. His "Rock of Love" television series is one of the most successful in VH1's history. VH1 and Bret Michaels teamed up again for his family-oriented 2010 docu-series “Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It” and even went head to head with some of the brightest minds in business on Donald Trump's NBC hit, “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Rocking out and giving back go hand in hand for Michaels. A lifelong diabetic, he partnered with the American Diabetes Association in 2010, acting as a spokesperson and sponsor. He continues to work with numerous cancer organizations and is a contributor to the Muhammad Ali Foundation, which helps those suffering from Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.
