Carson City man exposes genitals to deputies after being denied mental health placement

A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested for indecent exposure and violating terms of his release after he showed his genitals to deputies.

According to the arrest report, deputies received a call just past midnight on Tuesday that a man was at the front counter of the Sheriff’s Office.

Dispatch advised the man was intoxicated and wished to turn himself in for drinking, and advised he was on supervision with the Department of Alternative Sentencing.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the man who said he had been drinking and was not allowed to return to his mother’s residence. He said he wanted to turn himself in.

Deputies gave the man a preliminary breath test sample, which returned at .00 percent.

The man said he needed help, but wouldn’t provide further details and denied medical attention.

Deputies asked if he’d be willing to go to Mallory voluntarily to receive help and he agreed.

However, Mallory advised they were full and he would need to go to the hospital.

At that point, the man exposed his genitals “in an apparent effort to be arrested,” according to the arrest report.

The man was placed under arrest, and the Department of Alternative Sentencing advised they would be placing additional bail for violating his terms.

Bail: $8,500

According to the arrest report, a deputy was patrolling in the area of S. Roop and Fairview Drive when they witnessed a vehicle stop with “almost all of the vehicle past the painted stop line.”

Deputies stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, the 19-year-old woman. Dispatch advised she is on alternative sentencing and is prohibited from possessing weapons, drugs, and alcohol.

Deputies searched her bag and located a purple stun gun inside.

The woman was taken into custody for violating bail conditions.

According to the report, Juan Sandoval was arrested after speeding 30 mph in a 15 mph school zone.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, later identified as Sandoval, who retrieved his wallet to provide identification.

Deputies noted Sandoval was attempting to conceal a small baggy inside of his wallet.

A K-9 deputy was requested, who gave a positive alert of the vehicle.

Deputies searched Sandoval’s wallet and located the baggy which contained a “powdery or crystal-like substance inside.”

While the deputy was attempting to locate his miranda card to read Sandoval his rights, they placed the baggie on the hood of the car. Sandoval grabbed the baggie and poured some of the substance inside of the bag onto the ground.

The deputy grabbed Juan by his shoulders and “escorted him to the ground,” according to the report.

Sandoval declined speaking to deputies after he had been mirandized.

Bail: $2,637
