Carson City's 10th Interfaith community picnic and food drive to benefit FISH
The Interfaith Community of Carson City will host the 10th annual interfaith potluck picnic and food drive on the lawn of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Monday, Sept. 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to share food, conversation, music, and fun activities with community members of all faiths.
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church once again has graciously volunteered the use of their lawn area at the corner of Division and Telegraph streets, Carson City.
All members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend.
Labor Day is a great time to share food and entertainment with your neighbors. Music and entertainment will be provided from different faith groups, adding to the diversity of the occasion. In addition, nonperishable food donations to benefit Friends in Service Helping (also known as FISH) food pantry is encouraged.
All attendees are encouraged to bring a main dish, salad, side dish, or dessert to share on our potluck food banquet. Cold water will be provided, however, you will need to bring your own container for the water, also a set of plates, eating utensils, and lawn chair.
Participating faith-based congregations include: Baha'i, Buddhist, Catholic, Episcopal, Hindu, Islam, Jewish, Latter-day Saints, Lutheran, Methodist, Nazarene, Presbyterian, Scientist, Sikh and Unity.
