Carson City Sheriff's Office seeks information on driver seen leaving rollover crash Sunday

The Carson City Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help with information involving a vehicle rollover incident Sunday that left a 61-year-old man critically injured.

On August 8, at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the area of College Parkway and Airport Road, calls from citizens reported a dark colored SUV had crashed, rolled over and the driver was ejected.

Nevada Highway Patrol and Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies responded along with Carson City Fire Department.

A 61-year-old man had been ejected and was found on the roadway. The man suffered critical injuries and was flown by Care Flight to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno.

Witnesses indicated that a silver-colored SUV was seen leaving the area at the time of the crash, according to Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Mike Cullen.

The silver-colored SUV is believed to be a 2011-2014 Jeep Cherokee and is in the main image above from a nearby camera. The second image is from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website for reference.

If you have any information regarding this crash or witnessed the events leading up to the crash, you are encouraged to call the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Joe Trotter #T494 at 887-2020 extension #45494.
