SET deputies make Friday night arrests for possession of meth, heroin near Goni
Carson City Special Enforcement Team deputies arrested four people Friday night after Nevada Highway Patrol alerted dispatch to a vehicle that was failing to maintain its lane, and NHP required assistance in locating the vehicle.
Jacob Matthew Lilly, 25, Chainey Elaine Gonzales, 22, Megan Goodale, 22, and a 36-year-old Silver Springs man were arrested by SET deputies on sixteen charges between the four, ranging from suspended registration to felony drug possession.
The charges are as follows:
Lilly: Possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with suspended registration, and two failure to appear traffic warrants out of Carson City Justice Court.
Gonzales: Possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony parole and probation hold, violation of bail conditions, and possession of methamphetamine.
Goodale: Possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and probation violation.
The 36-year-old Silver Springs man: Possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Deputies located the vehicle near Airport Road and Highway 50. They began to follow the vehicle, which was traveling at 44 mph in a 35 mph zone. As the vehicle approached College Parkway, it was unable to maintain its lane and the driver’s side tires crossed over the travel lane marker for about 100 feet, according to the report.
Deputies performed a registration check on the vehicle and learned it was suspended. Deputies activated their emergency lights, and the vehicle slowed but did not stop, continuing north.
The vehicle then traveled to the intersection of Arrowhead and Goni, before turning East onto Arrowhead where it finally pulled over and stopped.
Deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Lilly. In the vehicle was Gonzales, Goodale and the 36-year-old man. Gonzales and Goodale told deputies they were on probation. Gonzales told deputies she had not checked in to probation as had been requested, but that she had left her probation officer a voicemail.
A deputy K-9 was dispatched to the scene, who performed an exterior sniff of the vehicle, giving a positive alert.
Inside the vehicle, deputies located methamphetamine, heroin inside of a baggy, heroin residue on a spoon, needles, cotton swabs, and alcohol swabs were located in the center console between Goodale and Lilly.
Lilly told deputies the heroin belonged to him.
Deputies located a purse behind the driver’s seat with Gonzales’s ID inside, as well as needles and heroin. At the seat pocket at her knees they located a digital scale.
The four were arrested without incident.
Bail for Lilly: $6,697; $430 cash only
Bail for the 36-year-old for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia: $1,137
No bail for Gonzales for parole and probation hold.
Bail for Goodale: $9,137; $3,000 cash only
