Carson City short film competition and screening welcomes movie lovers and critics
The third annual City Wide Short Film Competition kicked off Saturday evening with a red carpet event and then a screening of the short films. Seventeen teams created short 1 to 10 minute films to be shown to the public and voted on. All movies were required to use the same line of dialog, prop and sound effect.
The winners are: Ages 16 and over: First place: Wild Man: Journey into the Unknown,; second place Acrophobia,; third place: Downcast.
Acrophobia picked as Audience Choice.
Under 16: First place: Wild West Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: Case of the Silent Harmonica; Second place, Mysophobia; third place The Dating Game.
Audience Choice: Wild West Adventures of Sherlock holmes: Case of the Silent Harmonica.
Each team came up with a creative film and had to do the acting, writing, directing and editing all by themselves. All teams had a week to create their movies. The short films were screened in the Brewery Arts Performance Hall.
