Carson City man charged with 7 counts sexual assault, kidnapping with a deadly weapon

A Carson City man was booked Tuesday into Carson City Jail and charged with seven counts of sexual assault and kidnapping with a deadly weapon, according to a sheriff's office booking report.

Jose Garcia-Perez was transferred from El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe to Carson City for the warrants and is being held in Carson City Jail for the alleged crimes.

According to the booking report, the warrant was issued by Carson City Municipal Court Judge Kristin Luis on June 4, 2021, charging Garcia Perez with seven counts of sexual assault and kidnapping with the use of a deadly weapon.

Garcia-Perez was extradited from El Dorado County Jail, where he was an inmate.

Bail is set at $125,000 bondable.

In March 2016 Garcia-Perez was arrested following a vehicle pursuit and crash. He fled Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies who were attempting to serve a warrant for sex crimes involving children.
