Lyon County Sheriff's Office investigates vandalism to political signs in Dayton, theft of signs in Silver Springs
UPDATE: The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office on Monday said it is investigating vandalism that was done to multiple political signs in the Dayton area and theft of signs in Silver Springs.
Obscene drawings and verbiage were spray painted on a political candidate’s signage in the area of Dayton Valley Road and Old Como Road, as well as Highway 50 and Enterprise Road.
From information received by the victim, the signage was vandalized on the evening of Saturday, July 20, 2024.
The Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating and asks if anyone has any information to please contact Sgt. Cooper at (775) 463-6620 and reference Case # 24LY02930. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
Meanwhile on Sunday, LCSO received a report regarding the theft of multiple political signs in the Silver Springs area. The signs were taken from the area of Ramsey-Weeks Cutoff and Highway 95A, as well as the area of Fir Avenue and Highway 95A.
