Art commissioned by Carson City featured near former Adele's site
Recently installed at the northeastern corner of Jackson’s gas station and food store at the intersection of William and Carson streets is a new piece of art commissioned by the Carson City Cultural Commission as part of the new zoning regulations in the downtown mixed use areas that can choose to feature art, a patio or a park.
For this corner, once occupied by the Adele’s building, Frank Lepori Construction chose the art theme.
Designed by Reno artist Jeff Schomberg, designer of the iconic LOVE art now found at the entrance of Renown Regional Medical Center, the aluminum outline of Nevada stands seven feet tall by four feet wide and features a star to indicate Carson City’s place on the map. The sign features many little cut outs of the state to be lit at night along with the star.
