Carson City sheriff’s arrests: Man upset over parking allegedly damages apartment door
A 33-year-old Reno man was booked into Carson City Jail early Monday morning on a felony parole and probation violation hold and misdemeanor suspicion of destruction of property, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Ralph Aaron Hall was booked into jail at 1:38 a.m. after allegedly causing damage, estimated to be around $3,000, to the door of an apartment in the 3400 block of Airport Road that witnesses say he was trying to break down because he was angry about someone parking in his parking spot, according to the arrest report.
Hall denied causing damage to the door. Deputies observed his footprints on the door matched the ones he was wearing at the time he was interviewed. He was held without bail in lieu of a felony parole and probation hearing. Bail amount for suspicion of misdemeanor destruction of property, $2,637.
In other arrests:
— A 28-year-old Reno man, Steven White, was booked Monday, 4 p.m. into Carson City Jail on a felony warrant alleging attempted burglary. The warranted was issued April 28, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was booked Monday into jail on failure to appear arrest warrant issued March 15, 2016 out of East Fork Township Court. Bail: $500.
— A 32-year-old Mammoth Lakes man was arrested Monday, 4:36 a.m. in the 4600 block of South Carson Street for gross misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence, second offense, and failure to maintain a lane of traffic.
According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop after observing a VW Jetta turning southbound onto South Carson Street from Fairview Drive, nearly driving into the center median as it turn southbound.
The officer followed the vehicle and observed it failing to maintain its travel lane and crossed over the dotted white line three times, the arrest report states.
The officer stopped the driver and asked if he had been drinking. The man said he had earlier in the evening. He agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .132 and was arrested. At jail he provided evidentiary breath tests that registered .101 and .92. He was previously convicted of DUI in October 2010.
— A Carson City woman, 18, was arrested Sunday, 5:27 p.m. in the 2000 block of Sheffield Manor on suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, the woman allegedly hit her boyfriend and then smashed the windshield of his truck with a skateboard. The victim told the officer he did not want to press charges, at the time, for the damages to his vehicle. Deputies observed blood on the bridge of the man’s nose from his sunglasses cutting his nose where he was hit. The woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
