Happening today: Silver Palooza returns to Silver City celebrating art, live music, food and more

Silver Palooza, a day of live music, food, lawn games, an art show and more is happening this Saturday, July 20 at the Silver Pavilion Stage in the Silver City Park.
This annual summer event features local bands and artists for a day of fun and community to benefit the Silver City Preservation Society, a nonprofit organization that manages the Silver City Schoolhouse and Community Center, provides planning, oversite and fundraising for community development projects, plans, and hosts educational events, community art events and sponsors arts and culture events.
The event takes place in the beautiful Silver City Park with its huge lawn, many shade trees and Silver Pavilion outdoor stage. Festival goers are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the afternoon of music, community, and fun.
The event runs from 12 to 6 p.m. and features plenty of local art and live music including Drinking with Clowns, The Gary Wheeler Band, Darren Senn, Betty & James and The Fourth Generation.
Plus a hula hoop workshop, art show, artisan vendors, tacos, a bar, dessert raffle featuring those Comstock bakers, community garden tours, dancing and more. The Silver Pavilion Stage is at 385 High Street in Silver City.
Bring lawn chairs, a blanket, hats and sunscreen. Event organizers recommend bringing cash for donations, food and drink and the raffle.
Tacos by El Rengo Food Truck and Snow cones by Kona Ice. Beer, wine, and margaritas for sale.
