Nevada Humane Society CEO to speak at Carson City Rotary meeting, public invited
Jerleen Bryant, Chief Executive Officer at the Nevada Humane Society, will be the guest speaker at Tuesday's Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. The public is invited to attend the luncheon, which begins at noon, in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.
Bryant will talk about the history of the Nevada Humane Society, as well as the services and programs it provides to our communities.
“Northern Nevada, like other parts of the country, is suffering from an overpopulation of animals. As the largest animal welfare organization, we feel the burden of this situation immensely” she explains. “Despite that, we are on our path to being a shining star in our community and an example of excellence in animal welfare on a local and national level.”
Bryant will also share information about Nevada Humane Society's new initiatives. “We have just recently established a behavior department to provide additional support to animals in our care and also provide adoption support. We are also expanding our low cost spay and neuter services to owned pets in our community to help prevent pet overpopulation.”
The Brewery Arts Center is located at 449 West King Street, Carson City. Anyone interested in attending and learning more about the Nevada Humane Society should email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com.
