RSVP offers Farmers Market Coupons for Carson City Seniors on Monday, July 18
Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, Inc. (RSVP) has free Farmers Market coupons for Carson City low income seniors through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).
“RSVP has only 350 booklets to distribute in Carson City and we want to make sure that all seniors who qualify will be able to enjoy the abundance of fresh produce while supporting our local famers,” said Molly Walt, C.E.O.
On Monday, July 18th, 2022, RSVP will distribute coupon booklets at the Carson City Senior Center, located at 911 Beverly Drive, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Each household may receive only one coupon booklet and must meet income and residence guidelines.
Eligible seniors will receive $45.00 in coupons redeemable at the local Farmers’ Markets in Carson City or coupons may be used at any other Nevada Farmers Market displaying the appropriate signage. The location for the Farmers Market is 412 N. Stewart Street in the parking lot east of the Carson Nugget.
The Farmers Market will take place every Saturday through October 1st from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Once the booklets are claimed, they cannot be replaced if lost or damaged. Eligible seniors can use the coupons from June 1st – September 30th.
To qualify for coupons, you must be a Nevada resident, 60 years of age or older, and must have an income that does not exceed $23,828 annually ($1,986/month) for a household of 1 or $32,227 annually ($2,686/month) for a household of 2. We are able to give one set of coupons per household.
Following the distribution of coupons from the Carson City Senior Center, any coupon books remaining will be available at the RSVP office located at 2621 Northgate Lane, Suite 6. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
You will need to present a Nevada ID or a Nevada Driver’s License showing a Carson City residence in order to receive coupons and must sign the self-certification form at the distribution site.
Non-senior friends or family members may pick up the coupon booklet for a homebound senior but will need to have the senior’s identification and a note authorizing them to receive the coupons.
