Sierra Therapeutic Equestrian Program, Red's Old 395 partner for Saturday fundraiser
Red's Old 395 Grill in Carson City has partnered with the Sierra Therapeutic Equestrian Program, also known as STEP, to host a fundraiser this Saturday, July 14 at the restaurant.
STEP is a horse therapy program that helps people with special needs along with veterans and children with learning disabilities.
For just $10, fundraiser participants can get a delicious appetizer buffet. There will be live music, a silent auction and raffle where you can win great prizes like a dinner for 10 people. One hundred percent of the money raised goes directly to STEP.
Red's Old 395 Grill has also partnered with Sierra Nevada brewery and now through July 14, Red's is featuring $4 Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter with 100 percent of all the proceeds go directly to STEP.
Some of the benefits of equine therapy through the STEP program include increased balance, muscle tone, problem solving, mobility, fighting depression and PTSD.
When somebody rides a horse it mimics the walking motion to help someone who is unable to walk feel like they are moving on the horse. The money helps support the animals and offer scholarships to people who really do need it.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Red's Old 395 Grill, 1055 S Carson St, Carson City.
