Summer camps in Carson City and surrounding counties for 2023
Ah, summer: A time of sunshine, swimming, camping and, of course, camp!
There are a number of camps throughout the capital city and surrounding counties, ranging from a few days to the entire summer.
Let’s take a look!
- Carson City
Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada Summer Camp is Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., all summer long. The cost is $65 per week, not including weekly field trips.
Computer Corps will be hosting their 23rd annual season of Tech Camps in Carson City throughout the summer for ages 9-15. Registration of $450 for a 2-week camp includes a computer system, camp shirt and hat.
Bethlehem Lutheran Camp Invention is for children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade, with Leader-in-Training spots available for grades 7-9.Camp takes place June 12 - 16 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and costs $280.
Youth Theatre Carson City is open to children entering grades K-5 and will take place July 11-15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Camp Carson: Unfortunately, most sessions for Camp Carson are currently full. However, be sure to check for your child’s age group to be sure!
- Carson Valley
Adventure Camp will operate Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and costs $31-$35 per day and is held at the Douglas County Community Center, with field trips.
Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada Carson Valley is located in Gardnerville and summer hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. First day of summer camp is June 19.
Heritage Co-op is hosting a Summer Nature Camp at Heritage Park Gardens with a focus in nature-based STEAM activities Aug. 1 through 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ages recommended are 4 through 10 and the cost is $115.
Sheridan Creek Equestrian Center hosts summer camps from June to August. Full day camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cost $600; half days are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and are $400.
4-H Summer Camp takes place in Gardnerville and is available for ages 7-12. Camps are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 20-22; June 27-29; July 18-20; July 25-27; Aug. 1-3; and Aug. 8-10. Registration is $5 per child per day.
- Lake Tahoe
Camp Galilee has sessions throughout the summer, including family camp as well as traditional sleep away camp. Pricing ranges from $200 to $900 depending on the sessions.
Woodward at Boreal is hosting action sport summer camps all summer long, in everything from skateboarding to Mountain Biking, scootering to parkour, and everything in between.
Tahoe Expedition Academy is offering a number of themed camps, from Art and Adventure to Primitive Skills and everything in between!
