Results from Legends of the West 2012 Bike and Car Fest

Legends of the West Bike and Car Fest 2012 has announced the winners of its Show and Shine, held on June 30 in downtown Carson City. A great day was had by all – the weather cooperated – and people strolled among the beautiful vehicles and chatted with the owners and restorers. The CCSO 9th Annual Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge attracted a dedicated crowd who watched all the competitors and cheered their favorites on to victory in all the competitions – Continuous Ride, Slow Ride, Team Ride, and the spectacular Last Man Standing.

The Downtown Business Association estimated the crowd at around 2,500 for the afternoon. Vendors and food sellers added to the color and excitement. Volunteers from Karson Kruzers, Freaks of Nature, and the Elks Club made the day run smoothly. People danced and sang along to the band Baker Street who covered the most popular car and bike enthusiasts’ favorite tunes. The lovely ladies of Miss Legends of the West Bevy of Beauty sold a record number of raffle tickets, benefiting the event’s designated charities (Disabled American Veterans Chapter #1 and #7 and FISH).

After 5 PM, the cars and bikes cruised to Fairview and back, ending in the Arlington Block for the trophy presentations, done by local celebrities and representatives of event sponsoring businesses. Whiskey Train provided a musical accompaniment to round out a great day. Judges from the CCSO, CC Harley-Davidson, Karson Kruzers, and Freaks of Nature provided expertise.
