Carson City emergency crews respond to vehicle crash involving pedestrian near Smith's
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Monday night to the area of Smith's grocery store off William Street across from North Valley Street for a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
The incident was reported at around 9:15 p.m. The pedestrian was unconscious when first responders arrived, suffering injuries to the head and hip areas, according to a CCFD battalion chief on scene.
The injured person was taken by ground ambulance to the Carson City Airport and then flown by Care Flight to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center. Their condition is unknown at this time.
A Nevada Highway Patrol accident investigation team has been called to respond. The cause is under investigation.
