Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Marijuana, alcohol factors in second DUI offense
A 29 year-old Yerington man was arrested early Saturday morning at 2:08 a.m. in the area of Carson River Road and East Fifth Street for a second driving under the influence (DUI) offense, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said, this one involving a combination of alcohol and marijuana use.
According to the arrest report, the suspect was stopped by law enforcement for failing to maintain a lane twice. He admitted to having smoked a bowl of marijuana and consumed three beers that night.
The suspect was observed to have red, watery eyes, dilated pupils, droopy eyelids and slow, forced speech. His left eyelid was also observed to be almost closed, the report said.
He submitted to field sobriety tests, which demonstrated evidence of impairment, despite a preliminary breath test that showed a value of zero.
A records check of the suspect showed a prior DUI conviction in December 2010.
The suspect was handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $2,500.
In other arrests:
— A 35 year-old Carson City woman was arrested late Friday night at 10:54 p.m. in the 1300 block of East Long Street on an outstanding felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the report, Kimberly Wager was taken into custody deputies responded to her residence on a domestic keep the peace call.
Dispatch performed a record check on Wager, who was found to have an active bench warrant issued out of the Carson City First District Western Regional Drug Court.
She was subsequently handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. No bail.
— A 62 year-old male transient was arrested Friday afternoon at 4:01 p.m. in the 400 block of Hot Springs Road for misdemeanor failing to register as a sex offender, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the report, law enforcement responded to the location on report of a subject brandishing two large knives at employees. But he did not point them at anyone, the report said.
Upon making contact with the suspect, deputies performed a records check with dispatch, which confirmed sex offender status registered in Washoe County.
The suspect admitted to living on Carson City streets for more than a month. He also admitted to not having updated his registration.
At that point, deputies handcuffed the suspect and transported him to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $150.
— A 27 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday afternoon at 12:06 p.m. in the 1100 block of Beverly Drive on an outstanding misdemeanor failure to appear contempt of court warrant issued out of the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the report, law enforcement responded to a Beverly Drive residence on a child custody dispute. The reporting party advised an active arrest warrant on the 27 year-old male suspect, whose status was confirmed by records check through dispatch.
He was subsequently handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $855.
